epages News [Museums] Exhibition to Highlight Salar Jung Museum Anniversary Nov 26, 2004: The 119th birth anniversary of Nawab Mir Yousuf Ali Khan Bahadur Salar Jung III will be marked by a educative and interesting exhibition that will exhibit a collection of memorabilia, rare photographs & manuscripts dating back to the bygone era of the 14th century onwards.The exhibition will begin on 28th November and end on 12th December, 2004.
The noted highlight of the exhibition will be new galleries dedicated to French & Porcelain during the era of the Nawab.The French Gallery will display a variety of French objects such as French wine, art work, furniture, paintings, etc collected by the Nawab during his various trips to France. Some of the objects depict the glorious eras of the two towering figures in the annals of French History, Napolean Bonaparte & Bourban Eugenics.
About 175 products of old galleries & 474 new products have been placed in the Porcelain gallery. In addition to this, it will also showcase valuable porcelain & pottery products. The exhibition will unveil a memorable chapter of the Nawab’s eventful time and his many fancies ranging from exotic to classic.
For sure, the city folks and tourists will have a gala time having a peek at the exhibits of the days gone by. The winter chill is surely thawing and setting the spirits aflame.
