St. Mary’s Junior College makes for an excellent and viable college for students

St. Mary’s is a word familiar to the student community of the city. It rings bright and high being well stuck. Its innings began way back in the days of the British Raj. That’s a long haul. School has a pretty long lineage and college by the name of St Mary’s Junior College began its tryst in 1982. Here, we are going to introduce the junior college division.
Set up in a sprawling landmass of nearly 5-6 acres, it looks impressive and rather shall we say majestic. The very sight of all white colour evokes a feeling of awe and clean bowls one with its sheer range of facilities and courses offered.

This college is a co-education one, where boys and girls are given equal education opportunities and no bar is restricted on either. That presents a picture of harmony, and one can see intermingling of boys and girls, the respect being warm and mutual and no rancour or ill feelings are entertained. It makes for an interesting story to know its origin and evolvement over the years.

Features

It was started as a Catholic Minority Institution, the main aim was to serve the student community with particular reference to Christian Minority and prepare the gathering to headlong and innumerable challenges that lie ahead in various fields such as science, technology, arts and drama and so on. Also, it inculcates them with qualities to evolve as ideal citizens of the nation laced with proper values of patriotic feelings. The students are also imbibed with feelings to respect fellow humans and also society in general. It seeks to gel in that feeling to work for the welfare of the society and be a well behaved cum decent human being. 

The study curriculum is so well devised that several students coming out of the college feel better and well motivated, excellent results pouring with frequency. The same has become a recurrent feature and this in turn attracted students from various parts of the city. The name and fame spread over becoming deeper and deeper with passage of time.

The college’s medium of instruction is English, the second language a toss up between Hindi, Sanskrit, French and Arabic. The courses offered are four- MPC/BPC/CEC/MEC, the fee structure is reasonable and within one’s parents budget. It also provides for excellent facilitiessuch as laboratory and library with computer network, all of which are of quality standards. Apart from this, it also has a fine canteen and bookstall facility. Thus a proper ambiance is built up which allows for proper ideas to flow into the students mind and help them evolve on expected lines. The college is also particular about discipline norms, proper dose of it is doused in the students so that they are trained to respect and not fear law and rules laid down.
